Mount Marty Uses New Technology To Save Time, Money

Mount Marty College strives to implement tools that make life easier for students.
In 2009, Mount Marty will be adding value and information to the 1098Ts, which will be distributed to students. The streamlined forms will also provide cost savings for the college.

Mount Marty contacted AIG Technlogy and asked to design a special form that would allow the college to combine a student’s 1098T and their accounts receivable statement in one document that could be printed using the college’s existing Datatel system. Mount Marty requsted the form be of the pressure-seal type in order to minimize handling and protect student privacy.

The new form has been tested by staff and is ready for the coming year’s tax season. Most of the savings are expected to be in the form of reduced postage costs and the reduced demands on staff time.

AIG Technology, based in Columbia, S.C., is a privately held software developer specializing in document management for education, government, municipality, financial and business needs.
