Pianist Juyeon Kang to Perform at Mount Marty

A performance by pianist Juyeon Kang is scheduled to be held in Marian Auditorium at Mount Marty College January 19th at 7 p.m.  Her concert will include works by classical as well as contemporary composers.  The concert is free and open to the public.

Pianist Juyeon Kang, a concert artist and educator, brings the perfect blend of exquisite sounds and formidable techniques to her audiences.  Her recent and upcoming engagements have taken her to four continents, including the United States, Canada, Brazil, Spain, Finland, Italy, Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Korea.

Ms. Kang has also appeared as a soloist with numerous symphony orchestras including the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra, South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, Hingham Symphony Orchestra, Augusta Symphony Orchestra, and Korean Symphony Orchestra, and her performances have been aired on television in Korea and on National Public Radio in New York, Massachusetts, Georgia, South Carolina, and Iowa. 

A native of Korea, Ms. Kang earned a Doctorate of Musical Arts in piano performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. She also received the prestigious Artist Diploma in piano performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where she was on the faculty in the college division. Currently she is Assistant Professor of Music at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, and has been a guest faculty at the Sao Paulo University in Brazil, Beijing Central Conservatory in China, Tunghai University in Taiwan, and University College Sedaya International in Malaysia.
