Mount Marty Volleyball Players Recognized for Academic Achievement
Four Mount Marty volleyball players have been named as Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes. In all, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced 272 volleyball players have been named to this honor.
Nominated by each institutions head coach, a student t-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.

Lindsay Beacom, Lyons, NE
Megan Finnegan, Newcastle, NE
Laura Starman, Elgin, NE
Their coach, Tracy Grotenhuis is proud of her team. “These four student-athletes are very deserving of this recognition,” she said. “They are very disciplined in the classroom and all of them have made significant contributions to the Lancer volleyball program. They have set a very good example of what Mount Marty College athletics are all about.
