For the Second Time this Year - Wortmann Named Athlete-of-the-Week
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports announced Laura Wortmann was selected as the athlete-of-the-week in women’s field events for April 7 – April 14, 2008. 

Hansen Named Athlete-of-the-Week
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports announced Dean Hansen was selected as the athlete-of-the-week in baseball for April 7 – April 13, 2008. 

Nelson Earns Position on ARAMARK Olympic Team
Mount Marty Campus Dining Manager and ARAMARK Manager, Erin Nelson, will embark on the adventure of a lifetime when she departs April 6th for Beijing, China to serve at the summer Olympics. Nelson is one of only 160 food service managers worldwide who were selected by ARAMARK for the opportunity.

Mount Marty Attracts Kristen Grassa
Kristen Grassa of Tea, S.D., has made a commitment to attend Mount Marty College this Fall and will participate in the volleyball and track and field programs. 

Spring Break Volunteers
Eleven Mount Marty College students and their supervisor will join more than 12,000 fellow spring breakers from across the country March 3 – 7 to participate in Habitat for Humanity’s “Collegiate Challenge.”

Field Athletes Qualify For Nationals
Laura Wortmann and Angela Kayser qualified for the NAIA National indoor meet in Johnson City, Tenn. The 28th Annual Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held March 6 – 8 at Memorial Center in Johnson City, Tenn.

Women's GPAC Tourney
The Mount Marty College Women’s Basketball team will be hosting the first round of the Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday, February 26 in Laddie E. Cimpl Arena on the Mount Marty campus.

First Annual Indoor Soccer Tournament Announced
Mount Marty College will be hosting their first indoor soccer tournament on March 8th. Age groups invited to attend are Ages 12 to 14, ages 15 – 17, and ages 18 and over in both a boys and girls division.

Mount Marty Repeats as GPAC-Christopherson All-Academic Award Winner
Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota, claims the honor with the combined GPA of 3.280 among all of their student-athletes for the 2006-2007 academic year.

Mount Marty Announces New Hall of Fame Members
The induction ceremony will be held on May 4th. The four include two outstanding athletes, one of the great coaches in the region and a long time supporter and contributor to the athletic program. 

Mount Marty College to charter Chapter of International Nursing Honor Society
The Mount Marty College Nursing Honor Society will be chartered as an official chapter of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International on February 24, 2008 at 2 p.m.

Grammy Award Winner to Offer Local Community Presentation
Grammy Award winner Bill Johnson to campus for a special presentation in Marian Auditorium Thursday, February 21st at 7:30 p.m. 

Great Plains Writers' Tour
Elizabeth Cook-Lynn and Marnie Cook are in Marian Auditorium on January 28 at 7:00 p.m.

20th Anniversary and Hall of Fame to be Recognized Saturday
On Saturday, January 19th the Mount Marty community will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Laddie E. Cimpl arena and induct new members into the Mount Marty Hall of Fame.

Pianist Juyeon Kang to Perform at Mount Marty
A performance by pianist Juyeon Kang is scheduled to be held in Marian Auditorium at Mount Marty College January 19th at 7 p.m.  Her concert will include works by classical as well as contemporary composers.  The concert is free and open to the public.

New Year, New Look
It’s 2008 and we’re celebrating with a new look for Mount Marty College.  So far we’ve introduced new logos, a new look to our publications and a new website format.  We hope you enjoy these changes and invite you to watch for more changes to come on campus, online, and on the air.

Students compete in international programming contest
Three Mount Marty students competed in the Association of Computing Machinery’s International Collegiate Programming Contest at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln on November 3.

Filsinger family named "Family of the Year"
The Kevin and Celine Filsinger family of Clearwater, Neb., was named “Family of the Year” by Mount Marty College. Chris Filsinger, their oldest son, is currently a senior at Mount Marty.
