making money, but managing that money is as important as the products sold.
Highly technical training will often classify accountants as the "engineers" of
the business world.
Accountants prepare and analyze financial reports,
including tax statements, which furnish current information for businesses,
government agencies, and other organizations.
Mount Marty College is
unique in offering accounting students assistance as they prepare for a
wide-range of national certifications. Students can prepare for national and

MMC offers many opportunities in
accounting internships. As a Mount Marty College student, you may also
participate in the IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. VITA will
provide you with further field experience.
To graduate, students must participate in an internship. This experience will
help students determine their desired area of expertise while providing hands-on
knowledge of their future career.
In addition to the opportunity to earn a bachelor 's degree in Accounting, Mount
Marty College also offers an Associate of Arts degree and a minor in Accounting.
Regardless of the avenue chosen, students will receive a distinctive curriculum
designed to prepare them for national certification exams.
Faculty are assisted by members of the Yankton business community including
accountants, bankers, and attorneys.
Students are advised by experienced faculty in preparing for national and
international professional exams such as the CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
The faculty are familiar with all six professional accounting examinations. |
