The Moderator and Paddlefish offer plenty of hands-on work in writing, layout, and publication design. Many of our majors have worked for or interned at area newspapers.

English majors have also been active in the Literacy Council. Many English majors join the English and Journalism Club. This club is a scholarly and a social organization. The club participates in various activities including service projects, attending speakers, field trips, club socials, etc.

Members of the English club must be English majors or have an English minor. Sigma Tau Delta Literary Club is an International English Honor Society, which promotes interest in literacy and literature on campus and is open to English majors.
