MMC students participate in
the Internal Revenue Service Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA).
MMC is an official IRS site or VITA. VITA provides students with further field
experience while putting them in touch with the needs of the client.
MMC forensics accounting majors are encouraged to participate in an
internship program. Although it is not required, we feel it is important for a
full appreciation of the career field. Students participate in a variety of
work situations under the supervision of professionals to complete their
internships.
Forensic Accounting majors also have the opportunity to be involved in Students
in Free Enterprise (SIFE), a student club for business and accounting majors.
SIFE gives students the tools to learn the free enterprise system in real
working situations. SIFE challenges students to take what they have learned in
classes and use their knowledge to better their communities The MMC SIFE club
was recognized as the champions in their division at the recent SIFE convention
in St. Louis, MO, and placed second at the national SIFE championship based on
their business project. |
