Many psychology students become active in the MMC Psychology Club. The Psychology Club hosts guest speakers in the area of psychology, goes on field trips to visit potential career sites, performs in various outreach projects, and hosts social events.

The psychology program requires a service learning project and an internship. Opportunities include a variety of sites including Yankton Care Center, Sister James Nursing Care, Yankton Area Adjustment Training Center, Yankton Women's Shelter, Mickelson Center for the Neurosciences, Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, and public schools. Other internship sites are used to meet specific interests, and projects can be conducted over the summer.
