Commencement is an exciting time on every college campus. The granting of baccalaureate and graduate degrees is celebrated through long-standing traditions, as well as reflections on the opportunities ahead. This web site provides important details and information regarding Commencement activities. Information for Families & Friends
Guests
There is no limit to the number of guests candidates may invite to the ceremony, and no admission tickets are required.
Seating
Seating is available for people with disabilities on a first come, first serve basis. Ushers will be available to direct you.
Accommodations
Visit the Yankton Chamber of Commerce website for information on lodging, dining and other accommodations.
Length of ceremony
Approximately one and a half hours.
Reception
All graduates and their guests are invited to a reception in the Cyber Cafe following the commencement ceremony.
Photography
A professional photographer will take photos of each graduate. Photos should be ordered directly through Photography by Jerry & Assoc. They may be pre-ordered using this form or may be viewed on their website and ordered directly from the photographer.
Guests may take their own photographs during the ceremony, but must remain outside of the candidate seating area, in order to ensure an enjoyable ceremony. Guests will have time after the ceremony to take personal photographs on the stage.

Information for Graduates
Graduates, we hope you will participate in Commencement exercises as a way of sharing this accomplishment with your fellow classmates, as well as with the families who have supported you on your journey to one of life's most significant milestones.
We would like to provide you with the following information regarding our graduation activities.
Attendance
To assist us in planning seating for graduates we ask that you confirm your attendance (yes or no). Please call us at (605) 668-1515 or email events@mtmc.edu by May 1.
Line up:
Baccalaureate: Gather in Peace chapel by 9:20am
Commencement: Gather in Library Gym by 1:15pm
Cap and Gown
Undergraduate Students: Please pick up your cap and gown at the Bookstore on April 30, May 1 or May 2, 2013 (please bring your own hanger). All gowns and hoods are due back immediately after the ceremony; graduates may keep the cap and tassel.
Honors and Diplomas
All college work (including transfer work) is used in computing graduation honors for student's receiving a bachelor degree. Honors announced at graduation are based off previous term standing and are subject to change pending final degree verification. Diplomas will be mailed to students who have successfully completed all course work and have taken care of all financial obligations.
Graduation Invitations
Ten complimentary personalized invitations are available to graduates who request them. Additional sets of ten are available at $2.50 per bundle. Orders should be placed by Apr 2. To order your complimentary invitations and additional invites, please e-mail mmc.college.relations@mtmc.edu with “Yankton Commencement Invitation” as the subject line. Be sure to indicate how you would like your name to appear on the invitations. You will be notified when your invitations ready.
