Congratulations on your admission to Mount Marty College. Mount Marty
proudly welcomes you as a member of a distinguished group of individuals -
including 10,000 successful alumni - who have walked these halls and experienced
the adventures and challenges you are about to have. You should be proud of your
accomplishments. The combination of personal and academic achievements makes you
an ideal addition to the MMC community.
Now, what do you need to know to make your transition to MMC as smooth as
possible? Please review the information contained in these pages and know that
we are here to help you and support you. At Mount Marty College, we are truly
centered on you.

Next Steps to your Connection:
- Enrollment Checklist: Print off a copy of the Enrollment-Checklist to guide you through
the enrollment process.
- Pre-Orientation Program: Sign up for the Pre-Orientation Program, which is in online program to assist you
in the transition to Mount Marty College. The
Pre-Orientation Program begins in June.
- Confirm Enrollment: To confirm your admission you
will need to submit an Admission Acceptance Form along with a $50 tuition
deposit. This tuition deposit reserves your spot at Mount Marty and is
credited to your student account. The deposit is refundable before May 1st.
- Apply for Financial Aid: To be considered for
federal and some forms of Mount Marty financial aid, you need to submit a Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is also important to conduct a scholarship search online to
find other resources for financial assistance. Once you have been
awarded, you will need to complete your Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Loan
Counseling if you are receiving Federal Stafford Loans as part of your
package. If you happen to still have a remaining balance, you can
consider an alternative loan or the methods of payment offered
through our Business Office.
- Sign up for Housing:
Information about housing and meal plan options will be mailed to you after
admission if offered. To reserve your spot in the residence hall a residence hall application must be submitted along with a $50 housing
deposit. This housing deposit is refundable up until August 1st. You can also start planning what
you might need to bring and make plans for a loft (women only).
- Secure Off-campus Housing: Off-campus
students will need to complete an Off-Campus Intent
Form. If you do not automatically meet at least one of the
requirements listed on this form for off-campus eligibility, you will also
need to file an
additional form to be considered for an exemption. There are several online resources to assist
you in your housing search.
- Register for Courses: You will be receiving
information about registration of courses during the appropriate registration
times. Your registration appointment will consist of meeting your advisor to
discuss your interests and plans, registering for courses, completing student
life paperwork, completing placement tests, receiving your student ID and becoming
familiar with campus. If you are unable to attend during our pre-planned
registration weeks or are not ready to register by those dates, you can
certainly sign up for an
individual appointment throughout the summer months.
- Challenge Yourself: Consider applying for MMC's Honors Program. It is a great way to stretch
yourself academically and personally. Information on the program,
eligibility requirements, and application are all available online.
- Submit all Health
Forms: All students are required to submit health forms to secure eligibility for uninterrupted enrollment at Mount Marty College.
Be sure that you have all paperwork completed in full and submitted no later
than New Student Orientation.
- Need a Job?
Many Mount Marty students do maintain part-time employment while attending
college. If you received Federal Work Study as part of your financial
aid award, all you need to do is complete application the Work Study
Application included with your package. If not, but are still interested
in on-campus employment, please contact the Financial Aid Office for more information. You can also research options for off-campus
employment the South Dakota Department of Labor where you can search job openings by
city.
- Attend Orientation: New Student Orientation will
familiarize you with the college and help you get to know staff members and
fellow students. During orientation you will learn about the college's
opportunities, explore campus to find out where things are located, receive
your laptop, learn college success skills, meet new friends and have fun.
