Bede Art Gallery

Bede Art Gallery provides a cultural center where professional artists can showcase their work. The Gallery is located in the Marian Auditorium on the Mount Marty College campus. The Gallery is named after and in remembrance of Bede the Venerable.

One student art show is exhibited each semester, as well as work of other artists across the region on a month-to-month schedule in conjunction with the academic calendar. Professional artists often participate in workshops and gallery talks.

Bede Art Gallery is a center for cultural expression. Many ethnic and unique individuals are provided with the opportunity to express themselves by way of visual display. For example, well known artists from within the state of South Dakota have been honored such as Oscar Howe, Don Montileaux, and Martin Red Bear.

The Bede Art Gallery provides an opportunity for the community to share and broaden its aesthetic dialogue. As well as its perspectives, while providing a forum to enhance career development and to honor past artistic contributions by respected and recognized artists.

The Gallery is open to the public at no cost 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
