Coach Randy Fischer begins his third year as the Lancer’s head cross country and track coach. Before coming to Mount Marty College he had a two year stint as the assistant Cross Country and Track and Field Coach at Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota. He also coached at the high school level for five years previous to coaching at the college level and guided the McCook Central girls in Salem, South Dakota to two state titles in Cross Country and then Coached at West Sioux High School in Hawarden, Iowa and had a runner up and third place finish at the State Cross Country Meet in Iowa. Fischer’s first two seasons at Mount Marty have been very successful as with the help of Coach Lenni Billberg Laura Wortmann gain the All – American status four times. The women placed 23rd in 2008 and 27th in 2009 at the NAIA National Outdoor Track Meet. Fischer's teams have had 8 academic All-Americans and 28 All-Conference performances between the Indoor and Outdoor track seasons. Fischer would like to continute to increase numbers, see improvement in his teams, and also continue the academic success his teams have seen during his tenure.
