The mission of its founder, Father Gilbert V. Hartke, O.P., a prominent arts educator and then head of the drama department at Catholic University of America was to stimulate young peoples higher thinking skills and imaginations by presenting classical plays in surprisingly accessible ways.
National Players performances open to the public will include A Midsummer Nights Dream on January 31 and The Scarlet Letter on February 1. The evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door only and admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students.
