Mount Marty Archery Team Brings Medals Home Published Date1\28\2011 The Mount Marty College Club Archery Team competed in its first archery tournament, the Kansas City Shootout, in Kansas City, M.O. on January 22 and 23. The team, coached by National Field Archery Foundation Archery Coach, M.J. Rogers, performed well for their first outing bringing home four medals.Team members placed as follows: Jarod Myer: 1st place 2nd flight Mens Bow Hunter Freestyle Jamie Van Lent: 2nd place, Womens Recurve Alyssa Duncan: 3rd place, Womens Recurve Shaleena Lewis: 4th place, Womens Recurve Megan Arens: 5th place, Womens Recurve Leonard Risinger: 2nd place, Mens Compound Limited JR White Hat: 5th place, Mens Recurve Kaleb Carsten: 9th place, Mens Recurve Mount Martys U.S. Collegiate Archery (USCA) Program is the first one of its kind in South Dakota. It offers student-athletes competitive target shooting at a regional and national level. The start-up of this new club program was made possible through a grant from the Easton Sports Development Foundation Grant Program and the National Field Archery Association Foundation. The archery teams next competition will be against Wayne State College on February 24 at 7:30 p.m. on Mount Martys home range at the Easton Yankton Archery Center.
