Athletic Department to Host Little Lancer Basketball Program
Mount Marty College will be hosting a Little Lancer Basketball Program for girls and boys in grades 1-2 and 3-5 beginning October 30 in the Laddie E. Cimpl Arena on the campus of Mount Marty College.
The Little Lancer Program will consist of four Sunday afternoon instructional sessions on the fundamentals of basketball. Participants will work on individual skills of passing, ball handling, dribbling, shooting and footwork. The Little Lancer program also includes an optional half-time performance at Mount Marty Women’s and Men’s basketball games vs. Dordt College on November 22. Game times are 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
Little Lancers will be coached by the Lancer women’s and men’s basketball players under the direction of assistant coach Jon Millea and head coaches Tom Schlimgen and Jim Thorson.
The cost of this program is $25 per participant. Each participant receives a Little Lancer t-shirt to be handed out during the final instructional session, and an official Little Lancer membership card for free admission to all Lancer home basketball games. Participants must furnish their own practice gear and shoes, but basketballs will be provided.
Registration forms are available here, the Summit Center or the athletic offices. On-site registration will be held on October 30 in the lobby of Laddie E. Cimpl Arena. Registration begins at 1:00 p.m. for grades 1-2 and 2:30 p.m. for grades 3-5.
