Mount Marty College Softball Adds To Roster

Courtney Hansen of Omaha, Nebraska has signed on to play softball at Mount Marty College beginning next season. She will join the Lancers as a pitcher and infielder at first base.

MMC softball coach, Albert Fernandez, said, "I am excited to have Courtney join the Lancer softball program. She has a great skill set as a pitcher and has unlimited potential." Hansen's past season's hitting statistics were: Ave .340, AB 53, R 18, H 18, 2B 4, 3B 5, RBIs 18, SO 9 and her pitching statistics were: ERA 1.04, W-L 9-1, APP 12, GS 10, CS 10, IP 47.1, H 32, R 12, ER 6, BB 6, and SO 42.

Because of Hansen’s softball abilities she was named MVP in the Shocker tournament, the 16U A Nationals, and the Omaha Finest tournament. She is also a three year varsity letter winner and a two year academic award winner at Ralston High School.

Fernandez continued, "Courtney is a solid student and will be a good fit with MMC. She will be a great addition to the Mount Marty community and we look forward to her being a Lancer next fall."

Hansen is undecided in her academic major at Mount Marty College and will be receiving an academic incentive scholarship in addition to her softball award. She is the daughter of Danny and Marybeth Hansen of Omaha, Nebraska.
