Published Date3\12\2012
Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the signing of Douglas Heinrich, a Groton, SD student, to play soccer for the Lancers next fall as a forward.

"We are thrilled to have Doug join the MMC soccer team," says Nathan Epp, head men's soccer coach. "He is a very skilled and aggressive forward and has tremendous potential. I see him greatly improving the speed on our team and he's the type of student-athlete that will help our program to move forward."

Heinrich has received many awards for his playing ability, including Junior MVP his freshman year, All-State nomination the past three years, and First Team All-State his senior year. Heinrich also played in the championship round in the state soccer tournament his junior and senior years and has logged time playing for ODP (1994 Boys Team) and the adult men's league soccer.

Heinrich, the son of Crystal Peltier and Kevin Heinrich, plans to major in history education at Mount Marty College and will be receiving the Academic Achievement Scholarship in addition to his soccer award.
