MMC Nursing Students Inducted into Honor Society

Mount Marty College Nursing students were inducted into the Upsilon Iota Chapter of the Honor Society for Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International on March 25, 2012 at the Professional Office Pavilion on the Avera Sacred Heart Campus.

As one of the most distinctive organizations in professional nursing, the honor society influences and changes the health of people by engaging the intellectual capital of nurses around the globe. Founded to advance the knowledge, learning and services of nurses, the honor society focuses on scholarship and leadership in its social and ethical commitment to excellence. The selection for induction into this Honor Society is based on the recognition of the candidates for their excellence in professional endeavor and strength of leadership.

Undergraduate nursing student inductees are: Stephanie Backer, Norfolk, NE; Autumn Biermann, Wisner, NE; Brittany Brasel, Yankton, SD; Maggie Gall, Lesterville, SD; Jen Jerdee, Sioux City, IA; Vanessa Laible, Howard, SD; Kate Lingsheit, Miller, SD; Hannah Miller, Norfolk, NE; Paige Nelson, Colman, SD; Deanna Poppe, Crofton, NE; Megan Poppe, Avon, SD; and Tiffany Vandersnick, O’Neill, NE.

MSN student inductees are: Angel Canady, Yankton, SD; Kelly Marie Freng, Yankton, SD; and Michele Rohde, Yankton, SD.

MS student inductees are: Micara Anderson, Windom, MN; Austin Dale, Sioux Falls, SD; Teresa Hoffman, Grand Island, NE; Nicholas Jung, Sioux Falls, SD; Nicholas Poppe, Harrisburg, SD; Lana Roche, Sioux Falls, SD; Nicole Safford, Sioux Falls, SD; and Amber Van Voorst, Tea, SD.
