MMC Soccer Program Signs Yankton Stand Out

Published Date4\3\2012
Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the signing of Maggie Bisgard, a Yankton High School student, to play soccer for the Lancers next fall. Bisgard, a center-midfielder and defender, was a four year varsity player and three year starter for YHS. She was also named first team all-state in 2011.

Lancer head coach, Nathan Epp, is looking forward to having Bisgard join the team this fall. "Maggie will be a great addition to our soccer program. Even though she is a very skilled player at this point in her career, her best attribute on the field is her intelligence. She understands the game well and because of this has the ability to play several different positions for us. It is great to have a local player with her abilities joining our program as we continue to build."

In addition to soccer, Bisgard is also a stand out in the classroom. As a member of the National Honor Society and Girls State participant, she's also being awarded one of Mount Marty College's most prestigious academic scholarships. As the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship she will enjoy a 4-year full tuition scholarship. Bisgard is the daughter of Curt and Betty of Yankton, SD.
