Mount Marty College Musicians Conduct Spring Tour

The Mount Marty College Department of Music completed their annual spring jazz band and choir tour April 17-18.

The seventeen instrumentalists and twenty-four vocalists performed a one-hour concert Tuesday, April 17 in three locations in Nebraska; Osmond Public School, the Norfolk Veteran's Home and Ponca High School. Wednesday, April 18 the musicians brought their talents to Iowa, visiting Hinton Public School, Akron-Westfield Public School in Akron, and Remsen St. Mary’s School. The Jazz Band played well-known standards including "Blue Suede Shoes", "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", and "Singin' in the Rain", while the choirs’ repertoire included "Amani", "Ubi Caritas", "Such Great Heights", and "Down in the River to Pray".

The annual music tour has been a tradition of the Mount Marty College Music Department for over three decades. The two-day tour commenced with a Home Concert in Yankton on Thursday, April 19.
