Jandreau to Join MMC Basketball Team
Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Jill Jandreau of Kimball, SD to play basketball for the Lancers next fall.
Jandreau, a 5'7" guard, averaged 13.2 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals per game. She currently holds the record at Kimball High School for most career 3-pointers at 104. During her high school career, Jandreau was awarded All-Conference Player, Best Offensive Player, Southeast Area All-Star Player, and the team's Basketball Co-Captain.
Lancers head women’s basketball coach, Tom Schlimgen, is enthusiastic about the addition of Jandreau. "Jill's comfort in shooting the outside shots is going to help our flexibility on the court. We're excited to have her join our program."
Off the court, Jandreau has been very active in school and community activities. During her high school career, she became Student Council President, National Honor Society President, received a DAR Good Citizenship Award, achieved A Honor Roll status, and was named Homecoming Queen.
Schlimgen continued, "Mount Marty isn't just getting a great player in Jill. She's such a natural leader and is bound to be a valuable asset to our community here."
In addition to her basketball award Jandreau is also receiving one of MMC's prestigious scholarships, the Benedictine Scholarship. The daughter of Fay and Tia Jandreau of Kimball, she plans to major in radiological technology at Mount Marty College.
