Jones is Newest Addition to Mount Marty Volleyball Roster

Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Kayla Jones of Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa to participate in volleyball for the Lancers next fall.

On the court, the 5'7" Jones will play an outside hitter and libero. She was a part of the Hawkeye 10 Conference Championship team. She had 153 kills, 24 assists, 11 blocks, 243 digs, served over a 94% rate, and had 33 service aces for the 2012 season.

Head MMC volleyball coach, Candice Climer is excited to welcome Jones to the program. "Kayla has been a part of great high school and club programs. Her experiences will be great for our program and she can step up in both offense and defense. We're excited to have her join the Lancer program."

Jones, the daughter of Tara Smith and Rod Jones of Council Bluffs, plans to major in nursing at Mount Marty College. She is the recipient of an academic achievement scholarship in addition to her volleyball award.
