Mount Marty Softball Signs Pitcher
Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Tekamah-Herman High School student athlete, Amber Krause, to the Lancer softball program for fall 2013.
Krause is a 5'3" pitcher and utility player. She was named Most Valuable Player, was on the First Team All-Conference and received the Leadership Award and Pitching Award. Her 2012 hitting statistics were: Avg.364, AB 99, R 32, H 36, 2B 10, 3B 3, HR 2, RBIs 20, BB 15, SO 19, and SB 14. Her pitching statistics were: ERA 2.45, APP 34, GS 30, CG 30, IP 174, 3, H 169, R 104, ER 61, BB 29, SO 160.
Head MMC softball coach, Albert Fernandez, is happy to sign Krause to the roster, "I'm excited to have Amber join the Lancer Softball Program. She is a skilled pitcher with the ability to play multiple positions. Amber is a competitor on the field and a great student as well. She will be a great addition to the MMC community and we look forward to her begin a Lancer next fall."
Off the field, Krause has been on the A Honor Roll with a 4.0 all four years of high school. She was named to Academic All-State and was an FFA State Degree Recipient. She is the daughter of Michael and Mary Krause of Tekamah, Neb and plans to major in nursing at Mount Marty College. In addition to her softball award, Krause is receiving an academic excellence scholarship and a scholastic scholarship.
