The Mount Marty College Athletic Department is proud to announce that Aaron Losing, a 2001 graduate of the college and Alpena, SD native, has been named the Lancer Alumni Coach of the Year. Losing is currently a secondary social studies and physical education teacher at Crofton High School in Crofton, NE and has built a girls' basketball dynasty at the school.

After two years at Ethan, SD, Losing accepted the position of Head Girls' Basketball Coach at Crofton, NE where he has spent the past nine years. In this position he has directed his teams to eight state tournament appearances with impressive finishes of two third places, a state runner-up, and an amazing five State Championships. Losing's overall record at Crofton High School is 209-20. During his tenure he has coached ten All-State players and eight girls that have gone on to play college basketball.

This past 2012-2013 team finished with a perfect 27-0 record and another Nebraska State Championship. The team was rated 10th in the All-Class Nebraska High School Poll according to the Omaha World Herald. This ranking is considered quite an accomplishment given that the school is in the C-2 classification with three larger school divisions ahead of them.
