Mount Marty Volleyball Adds to Roster

Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Brianna Duerr and Tyann Hamlin to play volleyball for the Lancers next year.

Brianna Duerr, a Garretson High School senior, is a 6'0 right side hitter. She was named All-Conference Honorable Mention. Her stats for the 2013 season were: 88 kills, 26 assists, 26 solo blocks, 27 assisted blocks, and 24 ace serves. Duerr is the daughter of Duane and Pat Duerr of Brandon, SD and plans to major in nursing with a business minor at MMC.

Tyann Hamlin, a Highmore-Harrold High School senior, is a 5'6 outside hitter. She lettered three years, was named All-Conference, All-State 3rd team, Academic All-State, and Central Conference All-Tournament Team at Gettysburg Tournament. Hamlin led her team with the most kills in 2012 and 2013, named Most Valuable Player, and was Captain in 2013. She was a part of the teams District Championship, Conference Championship and placed 6th at state in 2010. Her overall high school career stats for the 3 years she started were 725 kills, 47 assists, 58 blocks, 736 digs, 138 service aces, and averaged a 92 serving percentage. Hamlin is the daughter of Chuck and Pam Hamlin from Highmore, SD and plans to major in radiologic technology.

Lancers' head volleyball coach, Candice Climer, is excited about the singings of Duerr and Hamlin. "Each one of these talented women will add to our program. Brianna will add some depth to our right side hitter position and has a passion for the game. Tyann will add depth to our outside hitter position but can play all six rotations. She will only continue to help our program with her successes throughout her high school career. Both Brianna and Tyann will be great assets to our team and campus."
