Hallock to Play Baseball at Mount Marty College

Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the commitment of Hunter Hallock, a recent Chamberlain High School graduate, to attend the college and participate in the baseball program.

Hallock has put together an amazing high school career where during the spring seasons he played for the Chamberlain High School Club team and in during the summers he played for the Sioux Falls Cyclones. Hallock, who was a 5-year varsity starter, has been named All-State three times for the South Dakota High School Club season and was selected to the All-State Second Team his sophomore and senior years and 1st Team All-State his junior year. Hallock put up impressive numbers and this past spring as a hitter Hallock batted .533 with 6 doubles and 17 runs batted in. As a pitcher he carried a 3-1 record with a 0.71 ERA with 47 strikeouts in 30 innings. Hallock’s junior year he carried a .538 batting average that included 7 doubles and his sophomore year had a .457 batting average as a hitter and a 1.18 era as a pitcher striking out 38 batters in 24 innings.

Mount Marty College head baseball coach, Andy Bernatow, is happy to announce the commitment of Hunter to the Lancer baseball program. "We are getting an exceptional player in Hunter Hallock. He should be a great fit for the baseball program and the college. I am excited that we were able to keep Hunter in the state to play collegiate baseball and go to school. It is also an additional plus to see a family tradition of Mount Marty baseball continuing with the Hallock family."

Hallock's father, Travis Hallock, played and coached at Mount Marty College.

Hunter is the son of Travis and Lesley Hallock of Chamberlain, SD and both graduates of Mount Marty College. He plans to major in exercise wellness at Mount Marty College. Hallock is the recipient of a Mount Marty College Academic Achievement Scholarship for his academic achievement in addition to a baseball scholarship and catholic award.
