Fransen Signs with Mount Marty College Baseball

Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the commitment of Connor Fransen, a recent graduate of Watertown High School, to attend the school and participate in the baseball program this fall.

Fransen, a 6'4" right handed pitcher, has starred on the mound for the Watertown High School Club and Legion Teams and was selected Honorable Mention All-Region his junior year and Honorable Mention All-State his senior year for the High School Club spring season. This past spring Fransen compiled a 1-1 record while striking out 35 batters in 25 innings with a 2.24 earned run average. During the 2013 summer legion season Fransen recorded an impressive 8-2 record as a pitcher with 58 strike outs in 68 innings and a 2.76 earned run average.

Mount Marty College head baseball coach, Andy Bernatow, is happy to announce the commitment of Connor to the Lancer Baseball program. "Connor has the potential to have a great career at Mount Marty. He projects to be a starting pitcher at the collegiate level and has the size, arm strength, and command to be a conference starter for us in the future. Connor is one of the top graduating pitchers in the state of South Dakota and I am excited to keep him in state and look forward to the opportunity of working with him."

Connor is the son of Greg and Jackie Fransen and will major in recreation management at Mount Marty College. He is the recipient of a Mount Marty College Incentive Scholarship in addition to his baseball scholarship.
