Voter Registration
As a citizen of the United States, you have the privilege to vote on your county, state and national leaders. As a part of the Higher Education Act of 1998, Congress directed schools receiving Federal financial aid to assist students who have not yet registered to vote.
To register to vote, as a South Dakota resident, you may obtain a voter registration form at the Secretary of State's web site: http://www.sdsos.gov. Once completed you should print and mail it to your respective county auditor office. The addresses for all county auditors in SD are also found on this site.
If your home state is other than South Dakota, you may use the national form available here.
To be eligible to vote in an election the voter registration from is to be received 15 days before the election.
