The first student publication on campus was known as The Angelus which was printed from 1930 through 1969.  The Angelus included news of Mount Marty High School and the Mount Marty Model School as well as the College when it officially opened in 1936.

At the suggestion of Rev. Joseph Rimlinger, the name of the student newspaper was changed to The Gadfly in 1969, but this new name was short-lived.

The following year (1970), the newspaper donned the  title of The Moderator and has been known as such ever since.  The Moderator as it is known today is published 6 times during the academic year and includes student opinion, spotlights on the people and programs of MMC, coverage of campus events and athletics and much, much more.

Advisors of The Moderator:

  • S. Eileen Neville
  • Donna Henseler
  • Larry Hoyle
  • James Sullivan
  • Dick Anderson
  • Nancy Nicholls
  • Megan McGlone
  • Jill Paulson (2004 - present)
