Graduating Seniors who have attended Mount Marty for 8 consecutive semesters MUST also turn in their laptops to be eligible for their Presidential laptop gift.

Graduation Photograph order forms must be turned in by May 9 to College Relations Bede 221.

***The Yankton Lions are providing a $1,000 scholarship to a student with at least a ”C” average and committed to service to others in their community and demonstrate this desire.  Preference will be given to applicants related to a Lions member in good standing of the Yankton Lions Club or any other Lions club affiliated with Lions International.  Deadline is May 9th, 2008.  Applications may be picked up in the Financial Assistance Office.

The 24th Annual Mount Marty Golf Classic is being held next Wednesday, May 14th at Hillcrest Country Club. This fundraiser brings together alumni and MMC supporters for a fun day of playing golf and raising money for Mount Marty’s annual fund. We still have a few openings for teams/players that would like to participate. In addition, we need a few more volunteers to help in the afternoon. New Business/Entrepreneurship class
The business department is thinking of offering for the fall 2008 an applied entrepreneurship class, BUS 486: Business Plan Development. This class would focus on creating and screening business ideas, conducting feasibility, industry, and market analysis, and operation and financial planning. Any student that would be interested in taking such class need to contact Dr. Josien (Bede 315B/1365/ljosien@mtmc.edu)

Scholarships Available for Students:
***The Sallie Mae Fund Unmet Need Scholarship Program is offering a scholarship to students who are a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident; have a family adjusted gross income of $30,000 or less; have a CGPA of 2.5; and enrolled full time.   Applications are available at www.salliemaefund.org  Deadline is May 31, 2008.

***The Tylenol Scholarship is being offered to students who are pursuing health-related studies.  They are offering a total of $250,000 in scholarship money for the 2009 academic year.  Applications are available on line at www.Tylenol.com/scholarship, using access key TYNL.  Deadline is May 15, 2008.

SUMMER WORK STUDY POSITIONS:
  Any student who is interested in applying for a summer work study position needs to fill out an application with the Financial Assistance Office.  You can not be assigned a work study position unless this form is filled out.  We still have openings in several areas

Publications Assistant Position Open
This is a full-time position responsible for the administrative duties of the College Relations office including tracking projects, managing account payables for vendors, performing basic reception duties, writing news releases, creating designs for advertisement and printed materials and assisting with photography.
A Post Secondary degree or four years of experience in business, public relations, journalism or related field is preferred. Qualified candidates will also have excellent computer, photography, writing, proofreading and communication skills. Strong organizational abilities and experience with graphic design software preferred.

IT Helpdesk Specialist
This is a full-time position. This individual will provide IT helpdesk support by answering phones, communicating work order tickets, aiding faculty, staff, and students with computers and laptops, managing and documenting computer inventory and related supplies.  Applicants for this position should have technical and customer service skills and familiarity with Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suites, and database experience. This position requires a two (2) year degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Fund for Veterans’ Education announces scholarships for veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.  The Fund for Veterans’ Education will award up to $3.5 million in 2008-09 in undergraduate scholarships for veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.  Full-time and part-time students are eligible.  Applications are available beginning April 1st for the fall 2008 term.  The application deadline is June 15th, 2008.  The awards, which are renewable, are intended to cover financial need not met with need based grants and military education benefits.  For more information and applications, visit http://www.veteransfund.or

Meridian Trails Weekend
