CAMPUS EVENTS CALENDAR

MMC PARKING ISSUES

To date there have been approximately 150 ‘WARNING’ parking tickets issued on campus.  Most of these have been issued to students who have not yet gotten their FREE parking sticker from the Business Office.  Please take your license number and make and model of your vehicle to the Business Office to request your free parking sticker.  Parking stickers are to be placed in the lower right hand corner of your windshield.  All vehicles parked on Mount Marty Campus are REQUIRED to have a parking permit whether you are a resident student, commuter student, faculty, or staff.  Once the “warning” period has expired, fines will be issued at $25.00 for general parking violations and $50.00 for fire lane violations.  Thank you!  MMC Facilities Department

Annual Photography Contest

Mount Marty College's Annual Photography Contest is here! You don't have to be a professional photographer to take great pictures! If you would like to enter our on-campus photography contest, simply submit your photos of Mount Marty campuses, sports, classes, and/or general campus life to Jamie Ridgway in Bede 221, or e-mail her at jamie.ridgway@mtmc.edu. If your picture is selected, it will be featured in the MMC desk calendar for 2011. Winners also receive two free copies of the calendar. The deadline is September 30.

Looking for MMC Archery Team Members!

Mount Marty College Athletic Director, Chuck Iverson, and National Field Archery Foundation Archery Coach, M.J. Rogers, announce the launch of a new U.S. Collegiate Archery (USCA) Program this fall. The first one of its kind in South Dakota, the USCA program will offer student-athletes competitive target shooting at a regional and national level. Mount Marty is now joining the ranks of 70-plus other college programs across the U.S. as student-athletes can now train in their own world-class indoor and outdoor training facility at the Easton Yankton Archery Center. If you’re interested in participating in Mount Marty’s new collegiate club Archery program, contact Jarod Myer by emailing him at jarod.myer@mtmc.edu

On-campus Blood Drive

Siouxland Community Blood Bank will be on the MMC campus Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at Cimpl Arena Lobby.  MMC Student Health and Student Government will be sponsoring the Blood Drive.  If you would like to pre-register on line, go to www.donorsaves.org.   SGA will be recruiting donors one week prior to the Blood Drive in Roncalli Lobby.  Siouxland Community Blood Bank services 37 hospitals and needs 1500 units of blood per week to meet the needs.  Consider  donating blood to save a life!

If you have questions, please contact Susan Thorson, R.N. at sthorson@mtmc.edu or stop by Student Health from 8:00 a.m.- 12 noon Monday through Friday.

In order to protect the health, safety and comfort of college students, employees and visitors, it is the policy of MMC to prohibit smoking or use of smokeless tobacco products in facilities and on the grounds owned and occupied o leased and occupied by the College.  We are proud to be Tobacco Free!!  Interested in quitting tobacco—Call toll free to the SD Quits Line at 1-866-737-8487 or contact Student Health at 668-1587.
