Mount Marty Remembers Loved Ones with "Book of Living"
October 31, 2016
As the days grow shorter, nature begins to slow down and earth gives up her fruit and grains. Our year moves on toward its end and the church celebrates two harvest feasts of sorts: All Saints (Nov. 1) and All Souls (Nov. 2). We take this time to remember loved ones and friends who have gone before us, those whose lives are changed but not ended, and are now at eternal rest.
These friends and loved ones were there for us in our times of need and trouble. They supported us, loved us, encouraged us and listened to us without judgment. They gave us a smile and a hug when we were down. They sacrificed for us and they inspired us to be better people. How appropriate it is then that we honor them during the month of November, a month traditionally given to remembering and giving thanks.
We at Mount Marty College would like to remember your loved ones in our campus Masses and prayers throughout the month of November. Once again, a “Book of the Living” with the names of your loved ones will be enthroned in The Raven, our Campus Ministry area.
Please send us the names of those you wish to be included in our “Book of the Living" via our online prayer request form, which includes an option to give a memorial gift. We will remember your loved ones in our prayers and Masses, including the All Saint's Day Mass in Peace Chapel on Nov. 1 at 9 p.m.
