MMC Alumnus Jordan Foos Named Director Campus Ministry
August 22, 2017
A 2010 Mount Marty graduate, Jordan Foos has been selected as the new director of campus ministry, filling role vacated by S. Maribeth Wentzlaff, who is now the prioress of Sacred Heart Monastery. Jordan graduated from MMC with a Biology degree and minors in English, Chemistry and Philosophy. Since 2014, he has served the MMC campus as the assistant director of campus ministry.
Jordan was recently featured in a Yankton Press & Dakotan article by Reilly Biel. In the article, he talks about his goals for the campus ministry program —
"(Students) have all these commitments and may work a job or have family concerns. Everything that’s going on in their lives, we are really hoping to be a presence for them and walk alongside them and be support for them as they go through those things."
— and what he values about MMC —
"Because we’re small, that helps us to have that feeling that we really feel part of something and aren’t just a number. You get to feel that you have a voice and a say (in things). That’s a big deal for our students. College can be stressful enough — all this transition and academics — so having that feeling that people are looking out for you is important."
