MMC Watertown PACH Food Drive

May 5, 2017

WATERTOWN, SD — Mount Marty College (MMC) – Watertown recently hosted a food drive for the

Summer PACH Program. MMC collected 161 individual items including peanut butter, juice boxes,

macaroni and cheese, and more.

The Watertown PACH (People Against Child Hunger) program was established in 2010. The PACH

program works with school staff to provide complimentary snacks and meals to students who may need

an additional food resource over the weekends during the school year.

“We’re happy to be able to support such an important cause,” Cassi Johnson, MMC-Watertown

Assistant Director and Summer PACH Program Secretary said.

During the school year the PACH program packs over 600 bags each week to help provide food for

children and youth in the Watertown area. The summer program was established in 2014, and last

summer packed an average of 75 bags each week.

Any child in Watertown in Head Start/Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 may participate in PACH.

There are no eligibility requirements. Pre-registration for the program is required and children will be

served on a first come, first served basis.
