According to a recently released "Best Bang for the Buck" ranking by Washington Monthly, Mount Marty College ranks in top 367 baccalaurete colleges in the Midwest.

MMC was one of nine South Dakota higher education institutions listed in this category. This listing is based on the economic value students receive per dollar spent on their education, The ranking takes into consideration the colleges in America that do the best job of helping students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices. Only 344 of 1,500 colleges and universities made the cut as best bang for the buck.


According to a ranking by US News and World Report, Mount Marty College was listed as number 103 in the Best Colleges for Regional Midwest category. The list ranked 171 colleges and some unranked schools as well.

The US News ranking system rests on two pillars. The formula uses quantitive measures that education experts have proposed as reliable indicators of academic quality, and it's based on their researched view of what matters in education.


The 2016 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll highlights the role colleges and universities play in solving community problems and placing more students on a lifelong path of civic engagement by recognizing institutions that achieve meaningful and measureable outcomes in the communities they serve. 

Mount Marty College was honored specifically for their Lakota Cultural Immersion and Service Learning program facilitated by the MMC Nursing Department, the college's Freshman Experience program, and campus ministry service trips. 


Mount Marty College was recently named to the 2017 Military Friendly Schools List, which honors the top tier of institutions that are doing the most to embrace America's military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and to ensure their success on campus. MMC joins this ranking along with 11 other South Dakota colleges and 4 private (small) colleges.  

Now in it's seventh year, the 2017 Military Friendly Schools List was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 10,000 schools nation wide.


Mount Marty College was ranked in the top 1/4 of colleges, univeristies and trade colleges that are a leading provider of educational attainment data and information relating to the higher education ecosystem. MMC ranked #273 out of 1,195.

The Educate to Career is based of a ETC college ranking system. This system is comprised of 3 constituencies: students and their families, colleges - providing the indispensable preparation for life and the labor marketing, and employers who will hire the graduates.  The ranking is also determined by the economic value added by each college. Educate to Career defines economic value addede as being the improvement in earnings and employability of graduates; measured againsit the total cost of education.
