According to a recently released "Best Bang for the Buck" ranking by Washington Monthly, Mount Marty College ranks in the top 367 baccalaurete colleges in the Midwest.
MMC was one of nine South Dakota higher education institutions listed in this category. This listing is based on the economic value students receive per dollar spent on their education, The ranking takes into consideration colleges in America that do the best job of helping students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices. Only 344 of 1,500 colleges and universities made the cut as "best bang for the buck."
According to a ranking by US News and World Report, Mount Marty College was listed as number 103 in the Best Colleges for Regional Midwest category. The list compared 171 ranked colleges and additional unranked schools.
The US News ranking system rests on two pillars. The formula uses quantitive measures that education experts have proposed as reliable indicators of academic quality, and it also uses their research-backed view of what matters in education.
The 2016 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll highlights the role colleges and universities play in solving community problems and placing more students on a lifelong path of civic engagement by recognizing institutions that achieve meaningful and measureable outcomes in the communities they serve.
Mount Marty College was honored specifically for their Lakota Cultural Immersion and Service Learning program facilitated by the MMC Nursing Department, the college's Freshman Experience program, and its campus ministry service trips.
Mount Marty College was recently named to the 2017 Military Friendly Schools List, which honors the top tier of institutions that are doing the most to embrace America's military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and to ensure their success on campus. MMC joins this ranking along with 11 other South Dakota colleges and 4 private (small) colleges.
Now in it's seventh year, the 2017 Military Friendly Schools List was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey of more than 10,000 schools nation wide.
Mount Marty College was reported by the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) to be the Most Effective and Most Efficient private college in the state of South Dakota. The ratings for efficiency and effectiveness were considered separately in the report. MMC is the only school in SD of all public, private, two-year and four-year schools to receive a ranking of “very high” in both areas. The ratings were based on a complex evaluation of graduation rates and the institution’s impact on the rate of timely degree completion.
Mount Marty College was ranked in the top 1/4 of colleges, univeristies and trade colleges that are a leading provider of educational attainment data and information relating to the higher education ecosystem. MMC ranked #273 out of 1,195.
The Educate to Career is based of a ETC college ranking system. This system is comprised of 3 constituencies: students and their families, colleges - providing the indispensable preparation for life and the labor marketing, and employers who will hire the graduates. The ranking is also determined by the economic value added by each college. Educate to Career defines economic value addede as being the improvement in earnings and employability of graduates; measured againsit the total cost of education.
In the fall of 2017, Mount Marty College was declared a “Hidden Gem” by College Raptor, a college planning website that helps families discover colleges based on personal estimates of actual costs. MMC was one of only 36 midwest colleges to receive this designation.
This selection recognizes MTMC as one of the best colleges in the country, based on a combination of factors, including number of applications received, graduation rates, campus diversity, endowment per student, and other key metrics as reported via the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) for the most recently available enrollment year.
College Consensus recently recognized Mount Marty College in their ranking of Best Colleges in South Dakota for 2017-2018.
To identify the Best Colleges in South Dakota for 2017-2018 College Consensus averaged the latest results from the most respected college ranking systems with thousands of real student review scores from around the web to produce a unique College Consensus rating for each school. MMC’s inclusion shows that we have been recognized for excellence by both publishers on the outside and students and alumni on the inside.
In a report released by The Student Loan Report, Mount Marty College was ranked among the best colleges in South Dakota for students looking to graduate with low levels of student debt.
The report, which was creating using Peterson’s Financial Aid dataset for the Class of 2016, details the average student debt per graduate from over 1,100 colleges and universities in the United States.
