Mount Marty College Commencement

You did it! Commencement is an exciting time on every college campus. Our graduation ceremony is always a soulful blend of long-standing traditions, emotional goodbyes and reflections on adventures that lie ahead. In the Fall, Commencement is held in Marian Auditorium and the Spring Commencement is held in Laddie Cimpl Arena. Here are some things you should know about the big day. graduate Hooding: 10:30 a.M. - Bishop marty memorial chapel

COMMENCEMENT: 2:00 p.M. - Marian Auditorium

MMC Watertown Commencement will be celebrated in the Spring.

We hope you participate in commencement as a way of sharing this accomplishment with your classmates, families and the MMC community. Here are some things to keep in mind.

Attendance
Please call (605) 668-1542 or email events@mtmc.edu by Monday, December 4 to let us know if you’ll be participating. This helps us plan seating for the graduates.

Line up
Graduate Hooding: Gather in Peace Chapel 10:00 a.m. 
Commencement: Gather in Whitby Lounge by 1:15 p.m.

Cap and Gown
Undergraduate Students: Please pick up your cap and gown at the Bookstore on on Wednesday, Dec. 6 2017 (please bring your own hanger). If you are unable to get to the Bookstore, you must contact them with your jacket size and height so a gown can be set aside for you. Hats are one-size-fits-all, all gowns and hoods are due back immediately after the ceremony; graduates may keep the cap and tassel.
Nurse Anesthesia Graduate Students: Please inform Melissa Stellingwerf your jacket size and height by December 4th so a gown can be set aside for you. Pick up your attire in the MMC Pages Bookstore between 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16 2017. Hats are one-size-fits-all, all gowns and hoods are due back immediately after the ceremony; graduates may keep the cap and tassel.
Nursing Graduate Students: TBD

Here’s a checklist to make sure you are ready.

All the important people in your life deserve to join in the celebration of your accomplishment, so there’s no limit to the number of guests you can invite to the ceremony and no admission tickets are required. Seating for people with disabilities is available on a first come, first served basis. Ushers will be available to help. The ceremony will last about an hour.

Baccalaureate is a service of worship signifying the completion of your undergraduate years. Baccalureate is held in addition to the commencement exercises for undergraduate students in the spring only. Family and friends are welcome to attend in the Bishop Marty Memorial Chapel.

All graduates and guests are invited to a reception in Benedict's Cafe following the commencement ceremony for light refreshments, photos, hugs and farewells.

A professional photographer will take photos of all graduates immediately after they receive their diplomas. Photos will be available online 1-2 weeks after commencement. Contact the MMC Marketing Department at mmc.college.relations@mtmc.edu with questions.

Guests may also take photographs during the ceremony, but must remain outside of the candidate seating area. There will be time for personal photographs after the ceremony. 

We use all of your college work (including transfer work) to determine graduation honors. Honors announced at graduation are based on previous term standing and can change depending on final degree verification. We’ll mail diplomas to students who have successfully completed all course work and met all financial obligations.
