Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner
ADVANCE YOUR NURSING CAREER AS A FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER WITH A HOLISTIC APPROACH THAT EMPHASIZES BOTH CARE AND CURE.
As a family nurse practitioner, you’ll become a clinical expert in health promotion and disease prevention. You’ll apply cutting-edge science and manage the health needs of patients in primary care settings. Our program will prepare you with the knowledge and clinical skills you need to assess and manage common acute and chronic illnesses. But at Mount Marty, you’ll learn to not only provide advanced patient care but to also care for your patients with compassion, understanding, and a spirit of service—as part of our Catholic Benedictine values. And clinical experiences in rural and under-served settings mean you’ll be able to provide primary care to those who need it most.
- Family Nurse Practitioner: Take your practice to the next level with a Master of Science degree in nursing and provide primary care for people of different backgrounds.
- Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Graduate Certificate: If you already have a master's degree in nursing, you are eligible for a family nurse practitioner certificate. After applying, we’ll assess your transcripts, coursework, clinical hours and grades, and course waivers may be granted. At the end of the program, you’ll be eligible for family nurse practitioner certification.
- Skills you’ll use. After completing the six-semester accredited program, you’ll be eligible to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certification examinations to gain licensure as a family nurse practitioner.
- Convenient online and face-to-face courses. Coursework is both online and on campus. Most students enroll in the program while still working in their field.
