Expand your horizons.

If you’re looking for a college with a broader view of the world, you’ve come to the right place. At Mount Marty, you can engage with people from a wide range of backgrounds. We believe exposure to other cultures makes for better lifelong learning — one of our four Catholic Benedictine values. We want students who are passionate about serving others in an increasingly diverse population. Based on this core value, we organize annual trips to Europe, and our groups always include a combination of Mount Marty College students and their extended families, alums, and travelers from the broader Yankton community. Students can enroll in ART 260: Art and Architecture in Europe, to gain academic credit for the trip.

MMC Spring Break 2020: Munich, Prague and Berlin

Historians, culture buffs and adventurers, take notice: Mount Marty College is traveling to Munich, Prague & Berlin in March, 2020 and you are invited.

This ten day program is a guided experience with three Mount Marty professors and Education First, the leader in international education. We will become acquainted with the charming architecture of yesteryear in five European cities. In Munich we will be inspired by the likes of Wagner, Strauss, Kandinsky and Klee. A visit to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site will remind us of the horrors of the Holocaust. We will visit Nuremburg and Dresden. In Prague, baroque buildings, Gothic churches and quaint streets will take us back in time, and a river cruise on the Vltava River will provide us with an opportunity to admire the Czech capital’s main sites. Our visit to Berlin will feature an expert local guide who will provide interpretation of sites like the Brandenburg Gate and the Berlin Wall.

We are traveling tentatively February 28--March 8, 2020. The program is almost all-inclusive, including our flights from Sioux Falls, hotel accommodations, in-country transportation, all entrances & activities, breakfast and a few dinners. You’ll just want to bring spending money for tips, some meals, and your free time!
