Lancer Volleyball Team Donates to Avera Cancer Center

Published Date11\2\2011
Mount Marty College’s volleyball team recently donated $500 to the Avera Sacred Heart Cancer Center. The women sold black T-shirts as a fundraiser for their “Dig Pink” volleyball night during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month. They joined college volleyball teams across the nation in this “Dig Pink” breast cancer awareness and fundraising initiative.

“It was a great night as we also had five local high school teams join us in the crowd to cheer on the Lancers and support breast cancer awareness,” Coach Climer commented. “It was cool to look out in the crowd and see all the breast cancer t-shirts each school created during their season.”

“The Lancer volleyball team would like to thank all the people who supported us and donated for this great cause. In the last two years the Lancers have raised $1500 to go to our local cancer center,” said Climer.
