Mount Marty College Announces New Staff

In an effort to streamline the organizational structure and also increase the presence of marketing and communications, Mount Marty College has recently undergone some reform. Several new positions were created to support the campus. These exciting changes went into effect November 1st.

Within the organization, Paula Tacke was promoted to the position of Vice President for Marketing and Admissions. Tacke has been with Mount Marty College for the past two years working as the Director of Admissions and also previously served MMC in an admissions capacity for nearly twenty-three years along with being a graduate of MMC. “Paula’s knowledge of Mount Marty College and admissions made her a perfect candidate to take on the added responsibility of the marketing area. She sees the whole picture and Mount Marty will benefit from her oversight in these areas,” stated MMC President Dr. Joseph Benoit.

The organization also added a Chief Information Officer position, a Chief Advancement Officer position, a Director of Institutional Research and Grants, a Media Relations Director and an Events Coordinator. “These new individuals will work collaboratively to better address the current information technology, institutional reporting, friend-raising, as well as the fundraising needs of the college,” added Dr. Benoit.

New Positions: Chief Information Officer – Edward Koster. Koster relocated from Sioux City where he was the Director of Information Systems at Western Iowa Tech Community College. With a background of nearly eleven years of information technology experience, Koster is poised to lead the MMC IT Department.

Chief Advancement Officer – Barbara Rezac. Rezac comes to Mount Marty College after spending nearly the last thirteen years working within the Yankton Catholic community. Her experience with program development and her educational background will offer abundant insight to the new position. She will begin work with Mount Marty College in January.

Director of Institutional Research and Grants – Kristy Welker. With a background in grants stemming from her work with District III in Yankton, Welker brings experience and strong organizational skills to MMC. Having the ability to analyze, research and prioritize multiple projects Welker will be a successful addition to the institution in this capacity.

Media Relations Director – Kristi Tacke. Tacke brings over ten years of marketing and advertising experience to Mount Marty College. With a specific focus on media she will help to broaden the exposure of Mount Marty College and its programs.

Events Coordinator – Wyatt Yager. Having worked the last six years for the Sioux Falls based Orpheum Theater; Yager comes to Mount Marty College with experience in event and organizational management. Past experience in working with catering and beverage companies on events and conferences, Yager is well equipped to lead the college in its efforts.
