Mount Marty Womens Basketball Adds Guard to Roster

Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Erica Dreckman of Marcus, IA to play basketball for the Lancers next fall.

Dreckman, a 5'7" guard, averaged 22.3 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals per game. She currently holds the Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn High School records for most steals (104), single game scoring (38 points), and single season scoring (536 points). During her high school career, Dreckman was named 1st Team All-State, 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Region, and 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-Northwest Iowa, 1st Team Iowa Newspaper, 1st Team IGHSAU All –State, and Iowa 1A Player of the year 2011-2012.

Lancers head women's basketball coach, Tom Schlimgen, is eager to welcome Dreckman to campus. "We are excited to have Erica join our basketball program. We think she will fit very well into our style of play and are looking forward to working with her as a student-athlete here at MMC."

In addition to her basketball award Dreckman is also receiving an academic incentive scholarship. The daughter of Tim and Lori Dreckman of Marcus, IA, she plans to major in elementary education at Mount Marty College.
