Post 22 Jackson Signs with MMC Baseball
Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the commitment of Hunter Jackson to attend Mount Marty College this fall and participate in the baseball program.
Jackson, a Rapid City Central High School honors graduate, is an outfielder and pitcher from the Rapid City Post 22 American Legion Baseball program with which he has had an outstanding career. A strong 2011 season on the mound resulted in an 8-2 record including 2 saves and a 2.78 ERA. Only 14 batters in 55 innings of work were walked by Jackson and he batted .263 in 72 plate appearances.
Jackson is off to another good 2012 season for Post 22. Currently he is batting .292 with 45 hits, 29 runs, 12 doubles, 3 triples, 1 home run with 38 RBIs and is also 14 for 19 on stolen base attempts. On the mound Jackson is currently 2-1 with a 5.38 ERA and has only walked 7 batters in 26 innings of work.
Mount Marty College head baseball coach, Andy Bernatow, is excited to announce the commitment of Hunter to the Lancer baseball program. “Hunter is a huge pick-up for us. He plays outfield and pitches at a very high level and is a very solid all-around player. He has the ability to make an impact early in his career here at Mount Marty. It is a great addition for the Mount Marty program to be able to get a solid player from the Rapid City Post 22 program."
The son of Jeremy and Heather Jackson, Hunter will major in Business at Mount Marty. He is the recipient of an MMC Academic Achievement Scholarship in addition to his baseball scholarship.
