MMC Softball Signs Transfer

Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Sophia Lopez to play softball for the Lancers this coming season.

Lopez, a 5'7" transfer from Southwestern Oregon Community College, is an experienced outfielder. She was a part of the NWAACC Conference Championship team. Her statistics this past season were: Ave .188, AB 32, R 5, H 6, 2B 1, HR 1, RBIs 6, BB 3, and SO 13.

Lopez, who is originally from Carlsbad, CA, is the daughter of John and Teri Lopez. She will be a nursing major at Mount Marty College and is receiving an honors academic scholarship in addition to her softball award.

Head MMC softball coach, Albert Fernandez, is excited for the signing, "I am thrilled to have Sophia join the MMC community and our softball program. She's had two years of experience which will help us on the field and provide some impact to the team. She's also a great student with a great work ethic. We look forward to her hard work and dedication to Mount Marty in the years to come."
