Published Date10\30\2012
Mount Marty College is excited to announce the athletic signing of Carly Manahan of Wheat Ridge High School in Wheat Ridge, CO to play soccer for the Lancers next year. Manahan, a goal keeper, helped lead the 2012 Wheat Ridge soccer team to the quarter-finals of the Colorado state soccer tournament.

Lancer head soccer coach, Nathan Epp, is looking forward to having Manahan join the team for the 2013 season. "Carly will bring experience and aggressive play to the GK position for us. She communicates with, and sets up the defense very well. We are very fortunate to add a player with Carly's dedication to the sport to our growing program."

Manahan is equally as excited to have made this commitment early during her senior year. "By signing early, I wanted to be able to focus on finishing off my senior year strong academically and to also focus on my senior soccer season this coming spring." As for deciding to sign with the Lancers, it was an easy decision. "Mount Marty has always been my number one choice. I fell in love with the school on my very first visit. The students and faculty are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Everything about Mount Marty makes me very excited to be a Lancer next year!"

When Manahan is not playing for her high school soccer program she competes for the Wheat Ridge Avalanche and the Arvada Edge club soccer programs. She is planning on majoring in human services at Mount Marty College, and will be receiving an Academic Achievement scholarship in addition to her soccer award. Carly is the daughter of Lynn Manahan of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
