Mount Marty Womens Basketball Signs Froelich
Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Haley Froelich to play women's basketball for the Lancers next fall.
Froelich, a 5'8" forward/wing has been a stand out at Lemmon High School in Lemmon, South Dakota. She has averaged 19.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. She had a 42% field goal percentage and a 92% free throw percentage.
At 93%, Froelich holds the Lemmon High School record for free throw percentage in a season. She was named to the LMC All-Conference 1st Team in 2009, 2010, and 2011, was the Team Captain 2009, 2010, and 2011, Best of the West 2011, and Mott Tournament MVP 2009, 2010, and 2011.
Lancers head women's basketball coach, Tom Schlimgen, sees a promising future with the signing of Froelich. "We are excited about Haley joining our program. Her athleticism, toughness, positive attitude, and strong work ethic are all valuable assets that will benefit our program."
Off the court, Froelich is an outstanding student as the current Student Council President, a member of National Honor Society, participating in jazz band and a recipient of the Citizenship Award.
In addition to her basketball award Froelich is also receiving an academic merit scholarship. The daughter of Ed and Danita Froelich of Lemmon, SD she plans to major in exercise wellness at Mount Marty College.
