Mount Marty College Bede Art Gallery is hosting artist Scott Luken and his sculptures that will be on display through April 20th. A free reception and gallery talk is scheduled for April 20th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and is open to the public.

Luken was born and raised in Yankton, SD and began in the stone industry through his family business, Luken Memorials. Armed with a degree in commercial art and trained in various medium and styles of illustration, painting and sculpture, Luken prefers an impressionistic approach. His work is influenced by artists such as painters, Paul Cezanne and Monet, and the sculptor Isamu Noguchi.

Being a member of the Yankton based "Connecting Artists" and national group "The School of Hard Rocks" have been important parts of his artist career, allowing him to grow in knowledge and display and sell art and sculpture both locally and nationally. The hours for the Bede Gallery Art Gallery are 8 AM to 8 PM daily and it is located in the lobby of the Marian Auditorium.
