Published Date4\17\2013
Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Amber Dysthe, Parker, SD and to participate in volleyball for the Lancers next fall.

On the court, Dysthe will be on the roster as a 5' 7" setter. She was a part of the Parker High School team that placed in the state tournament 2009 through 2012, as 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 3rd place finishers for those years respectively. In 2011 Dysthe was named 2nd Team All-State, Big East All-Conference Team, and Class B All-Tournament Team. In 2012 she was named 1st Team All-State, 1st Team Big East All-Conference Team, Class B All-Tournament Team and Coca-Cola Unsung Hero. In both 2011 and 2013 she served as the team captain.

Head MMC volleyball coach, Candice Climer is excited to welcome Dysthe to the program. "Amber will be a great addition to this team. Not only is Amber a good setter, but she is a good attacker as well. She is a smart athlete on the court and reads the defense of the opponent well to know where to set the ball for offense. Amber has been a part of a great volleyball program in high school and also brings with her some great leadership abilities. We are excited to have Amber join us for the next four years!"

Dysthe, daughter of Denise and Jason Benney and Douglas Dysthe of Parker, SD, plans to major in accounting at Mount Marty College. She is the recipient of an academic incentive scholarship in addition to her volleyball award.
