Cancer Awareness at the Lancers Home Basketball Games Saturday

Published Date1\23\2014
On Saturday, January 25th, the Mount Marty College men's and women's basketball teams will have a cancer awareness night. The women's game at 2:00 pm will have the women sporting special "Think Pink" warm ups and during the men's game at 4:00 pm it will feature "Suits and Sneakers" for the coaches of the team.

Head women's basketball coach, Thomas Schlimgen, said, "We've been doing something to support breast cancer awareness for over ten years now and we always see such a wonderful response from our fans and the community. It's a great feeling at the end of the games to know that we've made an impact right here in our community."

During the first half of the men's game a free-will donation will be collected and a 50/50 raffle will also be taking place. All the donations received during that time will be donated to the local cancer center.

Andrew Baker, head men's basketball coach states, "Suits and Sneakers is a program in collaboration with the American Cancer Society to raise awareness about cancer as a whole. It's really hard to find anyone that hasn't had their life touched in some way by cancer and we're proud to bring awareness to our community about something so important."

Come support the Lancers men's and women's basketball programs cancer awareness night. Admission to the game is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and students are $2. For more information on Mount Marty College's basketball programs please visit www.mmclancers.com.
