Published Date2\18\2014
Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Morgan Hay of Parker High School to play volleyball and participate in the track and field program for the Lancers next year.

Hay is a 5'4" libero and setter that was named 2013 All-State Honorable Mention, 2013 BEC 1st Team All-Conference, and 2013 PHS Defensive and Hustler awards. She was also named Academic All-State and was a member of the National Honor Society and on the A Honor Roll.

Hay was also a member of the Parker High School teams that saw state tournament finishes. The 2012 and 2011 teams finished 3rd while the 2010 team finished 4th.

Her 2013 stats were: 58 assists, 889 digs, 96.9% serving, and 38 service aces.

Lancers' head volleyball coach, Candice Climer, is excited about the signing of Hay. "Morgan will be a great addition to our program. She comes from a successful high school volleyball program and will be able to bring her knowledge and experience of the game to Mount Marty."

Hay will also be competing on the Lancers track and field squad. She was a five time state track participant and achieved state championships in the 4x200 (two times) and the 4x400. Hay was also part of the Parker track team that was awarded the 2013 Class B track and field combined team champions.

Mount Marty College head track and field coach, Randy Fischer, is looking forward to adding Hay to the squad. "Morgan is a very talented 200 and 400 athlete and played an important part of Parker's state titles in the 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 relays last spring at the 2013 South Dakota State track meet. She has numerous accomplishments in track, but I really like her attitude and her work habits. The fact that she comes from a very good program in Parker that has had a great deal of success will add positively to our program. We are excited to have her be a part of the Mount Marty College track and field team next year."

Hay, daughter of Darin and Char Hay of Parker, SD plans to major in nursing and will be receiving an academic merit scholarship in addition to her volleyball award.
