Dr. Jennifer Oakes is the Director of the Simulation Lab. She instructs skills necessary for anesthesia management including airway management skills, regional anesthesia, spinals, epidurals, ultrasound, central lines and other vascular access. She also coordinates and runs Mount Marty College's high fidelity human patient simulator in courses such as Anesthesia Crisis Resource Management (ACRM). In addition to her work in the simulation lab, Dr. Oakes also instructs didactically in courses of anesthesia principles and advanced pathophysiology.
Dr. Oakes graduated with her Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She also obtained her Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice from the same school. She has worked clinically in New Hampshire, Maine, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
